Pedicure chair: plumbing first, comfort second.
A pedicure chair is plumbing, electrical and upholstery in one object. The basin, the drain fall, the water heater and the seat all have to be decided before the floor is screeded, not after.

Three services behind one chair
Water, power and drainage arrive separately, and a chair that cannot be serviced without being moved is a chair that gets replaced early.
A basin fed from a distant heater loses temperature at the tap, and a client notices that before anything else.
DrainFall and trap, decided with the floorThe drain route is a floor decision. Retrofitting a pump because the fall was wrong is the expensive version.
AccessA panel a technician can reachFilters, hoses and the pump all fail eventually. The chair should come off the wall enough for a hand and a screwdriver.
Seat layouts and what each one asks of the room
A multi seat unit looks efficient on a floor plan and expensive in the service plan. The four rows are the trade.
| Layout | What it changes | Where it strains |
|---|---|---|
| Single seat | One client, one water connection, one drain, one service point. | Needs a small room to itself, so a single seat per room usually costs more floor than the chair. |
| Two seat, one basin group | Two clients with shared plumbing and a single water heater. | A failed heater stops two clients, and the shared drain has to handle both flows. |
| Multi seat lounge | A row of clients served by one technician pair, with shared storage. | Privacy drops, and noise from one massage unit carries along the row. |
| Add on service cart | Keeps tools at the seat instead of a walk to the back room. | Adds footprint on the working side, which is the side that always gets squeezed. |
Basin dimensions, seat height and the service clearance are confirmed per project against the floor plan and the drain route.
What to settle before the plumbing is set out
These five answers decide the model, and four of them come from the plumber and the electrician rather than from the furniture.
- Get the drain fall in writing before choosing the chair, because the fall can change the model.
- Decide the water heating strategy: per chair, per room, or a central loop with a recirculating line.
- Confirm the power each seat needs, and whether the room has a dedicated circuit for it.
- Measure the walkway on the working side, including the space a technician needs behind a reclined seat.
- Ask who services the unit locally, and whether the parts are standard plumbing fittings or proprietary.

The chair is the visible part of a plumbing decision. The specification that matters is the one written with the plumber in the room.
